Between its snow-capped mountain ranges and vibrant multicultural cities, Latin America is full of treasures. Meet curious llamas, walk through salt deserts, watch the stars in one of the clearest skies around the planet… and dance a few tango steps on a street corner in Buenos Aires. The list is long!
Looking for a tailor-made trip to Latin America? Weisse will create a personalised itinerary to suit your wishes. Enjoy the landscapes of the Andes and taste empanadas straight from the oven!
We love Uruguay, Argentina and Chile for…
Argentinians, Chileans and Uruguayans are warm people with multicultural origins who wear their heart on their sleeve! Visiting Latin America means meeting these music, sports, arts and festivals aficionados who will give you a sense of the passion which fuels them, as well as show you the ancestral traditions of their regions.
Discover breathtaking landscapes such as the Salinas Grandes of Jujuy and Salta in Argentina, a salar that stretches as far as the eye can see, volcanoes with snow-capped peaks (more than 500 in Chile alone!), large lakes and the Seven Coloured Mountain of Purmamarca.
The three countries are full of various species: llamas in the Andes, penguins on the Valdes Peninsula, whales in southern Patagonia, monkeys in Iguazú, sea lions, seals and sea lions on the Chilean coast… and much more to discover!
A mix of Spanish and indigenous traditions, the gastronomy of south-eastern Latin America is rich in flavours: empanadas, choripàn, seafood, barbecued red meats – asados – and the famous maté, Argentina’s national drink, which is very popular throughout the region!
It is impossible to visit Latin America without dancing the tango! Following a class or in a café in Buenos Aires or Montevideo where the locals dance since they know how to walk, you can take advantage of the vibrant atmosphere to learn a few steps of this sensual traditional dance.

In the heart of the pampa, just 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Buenos Aires, La Bamba de Areco is an early 19th-century estancia that emanates charm and character. The colonial-style buildings have been tastefully converted into a luxury hotel infused with the gaucho spirit. The dark red facades of the main house and the stables, the immense tree-shaded grounds and the warm, attentive service make this a unique, magical place. A polo team practices on the field next door, and the rooms, fittingly, are named after famous horses. Decorated in leather, wood and wool, each one has its own distinctive “thoroughbred” style, making La Bamba de Areco a veritable microcosm of Argentine culture.
Awasi, in the north of Chile, is a stunning spot, majestic in its beauty and hidden away in the immense Atacama Desert, the most arid place on earth. This tiny hotel, a cosy and secluded haven in a historic setting, has been designed to fit harmoniously into the local culture and environment. It offers its guests unique ‘bespoke’ experiences and a choice of customised packages and 4×4 excursions with their own guide (a guide is assigned to each guest room). Its ‘all-inclusive’ programme gives the traveller total peace of mind to enjoy a wonderful experience.
Set in a pristine Andean valley on the banks of the magnificent Rio Palena, the Rio Palena Lodge is your ultimate Patagonian adventure retreat. This newly-remodeled, riverfront oasis features an array of angling and adventure offerings to ensure you experience the best of Patagonia.
